Supercar coating: advanced technologies and tailor-made systems
The coating of supercars represents much more than a simple production phase. It is a key element that helps define identity, performance, and exclusivity. Every colour becomes an integral part of the design, but achieving flawless results requires a highly technological process capable of guaranteeing aesthetic quality, strength, and durability over time.
In this scenario, we at Linea Eco-Air position ourselves as a specialised partner in the engineering of coating systems developed to meet the highest standards of the automotive sector.
Colour as an identity element in supercars
In the world of high-performance cars, colour takes on a symbolic and communicative value. Red immediately evokes passion and speed, while yellow conveys energy and boldness. Blue, more sophisticated, suggests elegance and innovation, while green remains a distinctive choice, often associated with exclusivity and uniqueness.
Behind these perfect finishes, however, lies a complex process. Coating must guarantee chromatic uniformity across the entire surface, as well as protection from external agents and long-term stability. In a sector where every detail is synonymous with excellence, the quality of the process becomes an integral part of the vehicle's value.
Linea Eco-Air: expertise in automotive coating systems
With over forty years of experience, we design and manufacture booths and coating systems for advanced industrial applications. Thanks to constant investment in research and development, our company is now a benchmark for players involved in the coating of supercars and luxury cars, where precision and reliability are essential requirements.
A project in the heart of the Motor Valley
Among the most significant collaborations, one stands out with a leading company specialising in the coating of ultra-high-performance vehicles, located in the Italian Motor Valley. Over the years, Linea Eco-Air has developed tailor-made solutions with the aim of creating a highly controlled production environment, capable of ensuring process continuity and consistent quality.
Surface preparation: the role of ECO-SMART areas
Every high-quality coating cycle begins with accurate preparation. The ECO-SMART areas designed by Linea Eco-Air are engineered to ensure optimal operating conditions during the sanding, cleaning, and preparation phases.
These systems stand out for their flexibility: they can operate in different modes, ranging from simple extraction to total air recirculation in a closed loop. This versatility allows the environment to adapt to different processes, while always maintaining high-quality standards and effective contamination control.
Drying booths for coating car bodies
The heart of the system consists of the booths installed over the course of the collaboration: twenty-four vertical and semi-vertical units dedicated to the manual coating of car bodies.
Inside these booths, specialised operators apply the coating cycle with extreme precision, ensuring a uniform distribution of the product. Once the application is complete, the car bodies pass directly to the drying phase, during which the paint develops its final characteristics of gloss, resistance, and hardness.
Aluminium structures and advanced drying technologies
One of the distinctive features of Linea Eco-Air solutions is the use of aluminium for the booth’s structures. This material combines lightness and robustness, facilitating the construction of large-scale systems without compromising stability and durability.
Furthermore, the vertical design allows for the optimisation of production spaces, avoiding complex structural interventions. This is coupled with a drying system featuring a four-pass combustion chamber, which ensures a uniform heat distribution and helps reduce drying times, while simultaneously improving energy efficiency.
Finally, the high air filtration capacity guarantees clean working environments, which are essential for achieving flawless finishes even on highly visible surfaces.
Carbon fibre coating: a dedicated process
In addition to car bodies, the project also included the construction of a system for coating carbon fibre components, a material increasingly common in the supercar world due to its exceptional balance of lightness and mechanical strength.
The process requires an even higher level of precision. After the initial preparation phases, which include sanding and sandblasting, specific primers are applied to promote the adhesion of subsequent layers. The components then pass through coating booths and drying ovens via an automatic conveyor, following a strictly controlled cycle.
Depending on the requirements, the treatment can involve multiple layers of paint, up to a maximum of seven, with the aim of enhancing the carbon weave and ensuring long-lasting protection.
Efficiency and sustainability in coating systems
The solutions developed by Linea Eco-Air are not limited to the quality of the aesthetic result, but also integrate aspects related to energy efficiency and sustainability. The control of process parameters, combined with advanced filtration systems, allows for reduced consumption and maintains high safety standards for operators.
In a highly competitive sector like the automotive industry, these elements represent a strategic factor, improving the overall reliability of the production system.
Technology and precision at the service of excellence
